It’s amazing! Four years ago, I decided to become an LLC and opened up MARSOC'S K-9 Training Facility.  I have been training dogs since I was in fourth grade and never had a non-related animal job or training job…in theory.  To think where I was four years ago, without a shred, all the amazing and fortunate things that have not only built this business but also my two other businesses, Blue Shield Malinois LLC and PAWS Against Domestic Violence.  

Four years ago, I was on food stamps! With nothing!!!! All I had was my drive and determination!

It has been an obsession and my reason for existence since I was a little girl. In elementary school I spent my weekends shadowing a veterinarian. I went door to door asking if I could walk, train, or groom my neighbor’s dogs for a dollar. Then, in fourth grade I got my first dog, Casey. I started keeping track of her training and started my very first training log in fourth grade! I started my own pet sitting and dog training in middle school! I won an art project in fifth grade titled “Wouldn’t it be amazing to train and own all of these dogs?” I skipped my high school prom to attend training conferences!

When I was in high school, I created a business plan for a dog training facility located in Laguna Beach, California. I called it “Kay’s K-9 Kribs.” I still have the plans, though they turned out a little different 25 years later! I still have my very first advertisement for my dog training business and pet sitting business when I was in middle school! And the art project that won first place “Wouldn’t it be nice if I owned and trained all these dogs?"

From there, I was a Zookeeper, a Wildlife Rehabilitator, a Falconer, a Sea World Animal Trainer, a researcher for rabies and west Nile, a Vet Tech for small, large, and exotic animals.

This facility, these dogs, saved my life from Satan!  

Countless nights without sleep, missing weddings, funerals, parties…being the last to show up and the first to leave. Sacrificing so much!

I had clients and dogs come before friends and family at times. Employees days off preventing having one of my own in years.  

Four years ago, I never would have thought I would have what I have with the family, clients, employees, friends, dogs, and reputation…or owning 12 dogs…🤪😍

Don’t ever give up! Do the right thing in life and be a good person and everything will fall in place! Oh, and buy your kid a dog and make them do something! Thomas Schreiner, my Dad, thank you for going on that business trip when I was a little girl 20 years ago.  My Mom let me play hooky from school and asked me what I wanted to do that day! I told her “Play with dogs at the animal shelter!” And that’s how we got Casey. You and Mom have driven me to do more and be more and helped create my work ethic!  I love everyone that’s a part of my life and part of this journey!

People tell me all the time…” It must be nice,” or “You’re so lucky to have all this.”  

It’s not luck! It’s hard work and determination!

True passion and heart are hard to find. When you come to our facility you will immediately feel the love and passion not only from me but my entire staff! Trust your family with someone whose whole life has been surrounded and driven, training and caring for pooches!

Over 25 years later and I am well known in the dog training and breeding communities and still following my heart and chasing my dream!
